Project Overview
This national framework provides NHS organisations, local authorities and other public bodies with a compliant route to commission mental health and wellbeing services for adults, children and young people.
The scope covered 56 service lines, including mental health support, counselling, behavioural support, social prescribing and community-based care.
About Our Client
Our client is an independent therapy and wellbeing practice providing personalised support to individuals, couples, families and young people across the UK. Their services include counselling, psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, youth mentoring and family therapy, delivered both online and in person.
The opportunity was a strong fit for our client’s existing expertise and flexible delivery arrangements. This framework would open the door to future work with NHS trusts, local authorities and other public-sector commissioners while supporting the growing demand for accessible mental health services.
Project Scope
This framework was not divided into lots, but our client applied for 4 counselling service lines covering adults, children and young people, with both face-to-face and virtual delivery.
Our Bid Approach
As our client’s first tender, the process required close guidance throughout. Our client had strong experience and evidence but had never presented it within a formal NHS submission, so expertise in NHS bidding, including the specifics, accreditations, structures and even portal used within this environment was essential to put into practice here.
We focused our responses on our client’s impressive counselling experience, professional qualifications, BACP and HCPC registrations, safeguarding procedures, culturally responsive support and positive client feedback. Each response was grounded in evidence and reflected exactly what the specification asked for.
Challenges and Solutions
Our main challenge throughout this project was bringing evidence from different documents and examples into one clear, consistent submission.
While our client had extensive experience in their field, this was their first tender. The key challenge was therefore organising their evidence and translating their expertise into a clear, compelling response tailored to the NHS specification.
We worked closely with our client’s representative to identify the strongest information and shape it around their service delivery plans, including referrals, risk assessments, practitioner matching, safeguarding, supervision and patient communication. This created a specific and well-evidence bid that was easy for evaluators to mark.
